Merging student data
There is a mechanism in the eduSky system that secures the entry of two records containing identical personal data. In practice, this means that
if the database already has a person whose name and surname are the same as the user we want to add - the system will signal this to us
in the form of a message. Of course, the system does not prohibit the addition of such data because the name in many cases is not unique data.
So if you are sure that you are entering data for another student, confirm that you definitely want to add it to the system. ×
There are cases, however, that the data entered into the system do not trigger the above message. The reason for this situation can be examples of situations:
- Names such as e.g. Wioleta and Wioletta - when entering data, they mean two different people for the system.
- Two-part names with a hyphen (not a dash!) Or without a hyphen - also mean for the system the data of two different people.
In this case, the message will not appear and the system will save the user as a new person (e.g. when adding a student or adding a new contract).
Duplicating one person's data and assigning them to various activities in the system can cause problems and irregularities in displaying information. Therefore, two records should be merged into one.
To merge data in the Secretariat section → select the Students tab → Options → Merge student
You will be directed to a form with two columns, where one of the columns will contain the data of the user selected from the list of students.
After selecting the user to merge, the second column will remain filled with data.
Similarly, after clicking the Parent button, a form will open with the data of the Caregiver previously entered into the system.
When maneuvering the forms below - select the data that you want to remain in the system.
